Job Summary:
Bizzell US has an immediate opening for an on-site Accounting Project Specialist.. The position will support a program to assist the NASA AMES facility.
Responsibilities
Financial Management: Oversee and manage the financial aspects of assigned projects including budgeting forecasting and variance analysis.
Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all financial activities comply with NASA/JPL policies federal regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders.
Project Accounting: Monitor and track project costs invoices and contracts to ensure they are within the scope and budget. Assist in the allocation of funds and resources across multiple projects.
Data Analysis: Perform financial data analysis to support decision-making identify trends and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers engineers and other departments to align financial objectives with project goals. Provide financial guidance and support to project teams.
Audit Support: Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits ensuring all necessary documentation and records are accurate and current.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the accounting and project management functions. Implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Contract Management: Review and analyze project contracts to ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions. Coordinate with legal and procurement teams as needed.
Training and Development: Provide training and mentorship to junior accounting staff and project team members on financial processes and best practices.

Key Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting preferably in a government contracting or aerospace environment.
Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g. SAP Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel. Experience with project management tools is a plus.
Knowledge: A strong understanding of GAAP federal contracting regulations and financial reporting requirements is desirable. Familiarity with NASAs financial systems and processes is also desirable.
Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail. Ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelors degree in accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
