Job Description

Director Employee Engagement and Workplace(Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week)

Overview:

The Director Employee Engagement and Workplace is a key leader in managing the employee training engagement and workplace responsibilities. This role will manage the organizations HR Business Partners (HRBPs) as well as oversee the Workplace and Employee Engagement team. The HRBPs play a key role in connecting the employee base with Human Resources taking a lead role in terminations promotions bonuses manager training and mentoring and conflict resolution among other tasks. The Workplace and Employee Engagement team is responsible for all of our facilities (2 main office locations in Irvine and Austin) culture events company activities parties and company-wide communications. The HR Director will ensure that these areas are providing high quality service to the organization. The ideal candidate is a passionate leader with a proven track record of success in building and managing HR teams and delivering impactful solutions. This is a strategic role that requires a strong partnership with other functions across the company.

The impact youll make:

  • Lead the design and execution of HR initiatives and internal communications that align with organizational goals values and enhance employee engagement culture and experience.
  • Partner closely with Executives on workforce planning talent development organizational design and employee relations to boost employee engagement and retention.
  • Oversee data and program management for performance management while designing and deploying leadership training coaching and development programs.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of in-office and virtual events (e.g. all-hands celebrations volunteer activities annual company party).
  • Provide strategic direction to the HRBP team to ensure alignment between business goals and people strategies.
  • Guide HRBPs in areas such as performance management workforce planning organizational design and employee relations.
  • Design and champion initiatives that cultivate a culture that promotes productivity creativity innovation and growth.
  • Oversee the Workplace Facilities and Securities team including office administration to ensure well run inclusive and safe office environments.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure efficient operations of office services supplies reception and employee amenities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws both USA and Canada and company policies while promoting ethical and inclusive practices.
  • Navigate managers and executives through a variety of organizational changes using education exceptional listening skills collaboration balance and the application of creative and nimble solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to senior leaders guiding decision-making related to talent structure and people dynamics.

Leadership impact:

  • Lead develop hire and motivate a high performing team
  • Day-to-day management and mentorship of direct reports to ensure high engagement facilitated learning clear expectations and structured work.
  • Establish accountability and measuring success through reporting and data resources.
  • Direct reports include 3 HRPBs and the Manager Workplace and Employee Engagement. Total team consists of 8 individuals.

What youve accomplished:

  • 10 years of relevant Human Resources experience.
  • 5 years of people management experience.
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Experience dismantling silos by fostering cross-functional collaboration between HR and departments.
  • A track record of developing innovative and forward-thinking HR strategies and initiatives and successfully fostering a compelling company culture.
  • Up to date knowledge of local state and federal laws and highly skilled compliance application including recognizing escalated situations that merit partnering with Legal and Leadership.
  • Possesses a data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze data and reporting to make informed recommendations.
  • Experience managing HR Business Partners.
  • Facilitated learning combined with roll-your-sleeves-up leadership ability to coach and develop others to do the same.
  • Skilled and genuine relationship-building capabilities.
  • Experience as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.
  • Comfortable in a fluid fast-paced environment.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong appreciation for the transactional structural compliance and operational side of HR in addition to the strategic HR programs.

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP

The base pay range for this position is $201500 - $215000 per year
