Job Description

Role Overview

This hybrid role combines urban design GIS mapping and environmental modelling to support urban code development feasibility planning and RIBA Stage 01 deliverables. The Urban Designer must work fluidly across multiple scales developing regional land capability studies urban zoning and parametric design tools and site-specific spatial solutions. This integrated approach supports multi-layered planning from concept to regulation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop zoning lot sheets site layouts and 3D parametric visualizations using Rhino/Grasshopper and Revit.
  • Conduct land use/landcover and site suitability analysis using GIS tools.
  • Model environmental overlays such as heat islands and ecosystem sensitivity.
  • Integrate GIS data into zoning and design deliverables.
  • Support RIBA Stage 01 feasibility by mapping opportunities and constraints.
  • Produce graphics and maps for presentation and reporting across planning and environmental aspects.

Qualifications :

  • 35 years of experience in urban design architecture or GIS-based environmental planning.
  • Proficient in Rhino Revit ArcGIS/QGIS and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of zoning urban codes and site feasibility assessments.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or Urban Design with GIS/environmental training.
