General Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associates Degree preferred
- Demonstrated working knowledge of computer applications including: word processing excel spreadsheets database management email internet searching and computer file management
- Demonstrated working knowledge of fundamental office skills including basic bookkeeping filing phone etiquette proofreading and typing/keyboarding skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of professional ethics
- Demonstrated excellent human relations skills
- Demonstrated confidentiality
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Receive visitors at the front desk by greeting welcoming directing and announcing them appropriately
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbooks issue visitor badges)
- Communicates clearly and concisely both orally and in writing including clear polite telephone communication skills
- Maintains professionalism with difficult or demanding individuals
- Identifies sensitive information and maintains confidentiality
- Works efficiently under minimum supervision
- Completes volunteer criminal background checks
- Performs general clerical duties related to the position
- Carries out any other reasonable duty assigned by designee
- Maintains standards specified in Professional Performance Expectations for District 118 Employees
Terms of Employment
- 237-day position Level 5
- Wages hours terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Board of Education and the Danville Education Association
