Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Inspector A to join a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer. This role involves performing detailed inspections of complex mechanical hydraulic pneumatic and some electrical components and assemblies. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude a deep understanding of inspection tools and procedures and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of complex parts and assemblies using blueprints sketches and written/verbal specifications.

  • Conduct first piece in-process and final inspections including complicated layout inspections.

  • Use and set up a wide range of inspection gauges and instruments including CMMs.

  • Document inspection results and resolve quality issues in collaboration with Engineering Assembly/Test and Operations teams.

  • Calibrate measuring gauges and equipment as needed.

  • Support and guide other inspectors including making setups for their use.

  • Maintain a clean organized and safe work area.

  • Ensure compliance with all company safety and operational policies.

  • May be qualified as a Level I Operator or Level II Inspector in liquid penetrant ultrasonic or eddy current inspection methods.

  • Participate in random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced technical training preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficient in interpreting complex blueprints and technical specifications.

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Working knowledge of shop math including trigonometry and geometry.

  • Familiarity with electronics pneumatics and hydraulics.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience with a range of inspection tools and equipment.

  • CMM programming and operation experience.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions related to inspection and quality assurance.
