Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Inspector A to join a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer. This role involves performing detailed inspections of complex mechanical hydraulic pneumatic and some electrical components and assemblies. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude a deep understanding of inspection tools and procedures and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspections of complex parts and assemblies using blueprints sketches and written/verbal specifications.
Conduct first piece in-process and final inspections including complicated layout inspections.
Use and set up a wide range of inspection gauges and instruments including CMMs.
Document inspection results and resolve quality issues in collaboration with Engineering Assembly/Test and Operations teams.
Calibrate measuring gauges and equipment as needed.
Support and guide other inspectors including making setups for their use.
Maintain a clean organized and safe work area.
Ensure compliance with all company safety and operational policies.
May be qualified as a Level I Operator or Level II Inspector in liquid penetrant ultrasonic or eddy current inspection methods.
Participate in random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced technical training preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in interpreting complex blueprints and technical specifications.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Working knowledge of shop math including trigonometry and geometry.
Familiarity with electronics pneumatics and hydraulics.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Extensive experience with a range of inspection tools and equipment.
CMM programming and operation experience.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions related to inspection and quality assurance.
