Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced student-centered Program Director to lead and manage our after-school Fine Arts program for middle school students. Our curriculum focuses on visual arts music arts dance arts and theatre arts. This leadership role blends instructional guidance program operations community outreach and curriculum development. The Program Director will create a nurturing and dynamic space where students are empowered through the arts to grow creatively socially and academically.

Location:

(EBOYZ Innovative Learning Center) located at Glenwood Elementary School 1540 Halifax Road Danville VA 24540

Work Schedule:

Part Time 2:15 pm - 6:15 pm Monday through Thursday:

Flexibility is required to meet the demands of performances community events and program enrichment activities that may include some evenings.

Salary:

Commensurate with the experience and qualifications up to an annual salary of $23500.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership and instructional oversight:

- Lead and supervise middle school students and staff during after-school hours providing a safe structured and stimulating environment.

- Co-Design and Co-Implement a dynamic and engaging fine arts-focused curriculum including music dance drama and visual arts tailored to meet the developmental needs and interests of students.

Program Operations & Compliance

- Welcome the ideas and be able to implement and organize guests to come in and share life skills such as financial literacy public speaking entrepreneurship mental health etc.

- Foster creativity teamwork and self-expression among students through hands-on project-based activities.

- Ensure a positive inclusive and respectful atmosphere for all students encouraging collaboration and participation in activities.

- Manage Staff Schedules secure guest speakers and coordinate class rotation logistics.

- Manage full program budget and funding sources alongside the Creative Director

- Ensure adherence to all organizational district and safety policies including maintaining records and implementing emergency procedures.

- Oversee daily after-school operations including student attendance safety protocols behavior management transportation coordination and facility usage.

Community and Family Engagement

- Establish strong relationships with students parents school administration and community partners to support holistic student development.

- Build strong collaborative partnerships with the local cultural institutions artists and performance venues

- Plan and promote community showcases school-based exhibitions and on/off -site performances to celebrate student achievements

Qualifications:

- An ability to create a fun engaging and structured environment that promotes creativity and student development.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with staff students and families.

- Passion for Fine Arts education helping students discover and develop their creative potential.

- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

- Familiarity with youth safety and supervision protocols.

- Experience with grant writing budget management and program development

- Experience in managing leading or directing youth
