  • 7:00am-2:30pm
  • 10 month position
  • 207 days
  • $17.12/hr
  • Effective 25/26 school year
  • Long term sub is hired through EDUStaff- ($15.50/hr)

Position Summary

Performs a wide variety of clerical support services to assist the efficient operation of the assigned high school or ninth grade center library while maintaining confidentiality.

Duties and Responsibilities

(These duties and responsibilities are judged to be essential functions in terms of the Americans With Disabilities Act or ADA)

  • Assist in overseeing computerized library circulation and catalog system.
  • Assist students and staff with locating and verifying bibliographic and cataloging information.
  • Maintains building computer inventory via Resource Manager.
  • Conducts inventory on books equipment and supplies.
  • Prepares overdue notices fine notices; Identifies and un-catalogues lost books; collects money for overdue damaged or lost library media materials; and keep a record of money received.
  • Schedule Dukane Smart System multi-media retrieval system for videos DVDs announcements and reoccurring events.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing all equipment and software in media center and classrooms.
  • Check in and out books.
  • Process purchase orders.
  • Responsible for book repairs and laminating for building.
  • Responsible for scheduling use of media center computer labs and use of equipment.
  • Operate office machines such as photocopiers scanners computers printers calculators facsimile machines voicemail systems and telephones.
  • Communicate with customers employees students and other individuals to answer questions disseminate or explain information and address complaints.

Education:

This position requires high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • No previous clerical experience required.
  • One year of related experience providing clerical support in an office setting preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of basic math required.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services required.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing spreadsheets managing files and records designing forms and other office procedures required.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words rules of composition and grammar required.

Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret district policies guidelines and government regulations required.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in training classes required.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence required.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn different software systems required.
  • Ability to multi-task meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced work environment required.
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with teachers community students and staff required.
  • Ability to grasp position-specific software and hardware with minimal training preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer software applications computer hardware audio-visual equipment and related electronic equipment and devices preferred.

Testing:

Keyboarding Word Processing Basic Math Customer Service Proofreading Basic AS400 and Technical skills are required.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit use hands to finger handle or feel; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds of files computer and audio-visual equipment etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus especially due to concentration on a computer screen and small numbers.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is quiet.
