Job Description

About the role:

The Intake Worker works collaboratively with the Family Therapy Supervisor to ensure the intake and exit functions for MacKillops FFT-CW Shoalhaven service operate effectively.

The Intake Worker is responsible for engaging with families who are referred to MacKillops Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare (FFT-CW) Shoalhaven team assisting families to understand the FFT CW service and completing the intake and exit process for each family including the collection of pre and post FFT-CW service evaluation data.

This is a Part Time 2.5 days 19hrs PW Fixed Term opportunity in Nowra NSW till March 31 2026 in line with current funding contract within our FFT-CW Shoalhaven program. The position reports to the FFT-CW Family Therapy Supervisor.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in an intake or relevant service delivery role.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Aboriginal Health Worker Bachelor of Social Work Psychology).
  • Highly developed interpersonal and engagement skills.
  • Ability to relate to children young people and families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children young people and their families.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in data entry spreadsheets and information systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of safe home visiting risk identification and mitigation and safety planning.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including DCJ NGOs ACCOs and the community.
