Job Summary:
The Director coordinates manages and advances the work of the Knowledge Management team which seeks to address critical questions analyze solutions and share meaningful action-oriented information about practical innovative and transformative approaches strategies and implementation efforts to safety reduce the need for foster care. This leadership position engages with internal and external partners including child welfare tribal lived expert judicial legislative philanthropy and community leaders as well as other sectors to support the development of new materials and engage the field in a range of education and information sharing activities including learning and improvement collaboratives peer-to-peer exchange webinars and other dissemination activities. The role supports members of the Knowledge Management team in exploring organizing creating and sharing the most relevant information analyses and lessons learned from research best practice and experience on a broad range of topics ensuring the development of high quality responsive and proactive resources to advance strategic decision-making to solve complex problems and drive meaningful change for children and families.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Uses content expertise and experience to shape the direction of the work of KM and advance systems improvement and transformation through the development synthesis and dissemination of information; product development; the design and facilitation of learning communities; and leadership on a variety of events teaming projects and initiatives.
- Applies critical thinking meaningful analysis and creativity to close gaps test assumptions and current approaches address pressing challenges and share information and innovation in a variety of ways using various technologies and engagement strategies.
- Leads the development editing and revision process for a range of KM products and creates and directs a range of effective dissemination strategies to ensure highest degree of quality and responsiveness and achieve maximum impact.
- Uses sophisticated relationship management and customer service skills internally and externally to promote learning and knowledge mobilization; advance systems change; influence local state and national policy and practice; engage partners; build positive will and interest in transformation; and generate productive action.
- Manages the staffing and coordination of work assignments of the unit including assignment and oversight of employees contractors and partners.
- Supervises and supports the professional development of team members through active supervision coaching and mentoring.
- Ensures that work unit goals objectives and outcomes are aligned with and further the organizations objectives reflect Caseys goals and are supported by a strong continuous quality improvement (CQI) process.
- Oversees and improves the team infrastructure to ensure that the team functions optimally and keeps senior leadership apprised of status of work successes challenges and recommendations.
- Provides effective budget management and oversight on key projects or priority areas.

Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work Public Health Public Administration Juvenile Justice Education Psychology or other human services fields with aminimum of 8 years of progressive experience working in child welfare social services health or other related field is required.
- Knowledge of child-serving systems and community-based change including but not limited to child welfare administration policy and practice and an understanding of the range of needs issues and strategies to support learning organizational change innovation implementation and system transformation.
- Sophisticated relationship-management skills required. Demonstrated effective engagement and decision-making skills to support effectively leading both people and projects are essential.

- Experience with internet research content management or other technical tools and a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Demonstrated ability to learn other pertinent software programs as required.
- Ability to perform effectively in high pressure and stressful work environment while balancing the responsibilities and stressors inherent in the role.
- Ability to work onsite full-time to meet the collaborative responsibilities that are essential. Regular and reliable attendance is required. This is a full time position with travel up to 30% of the time.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift and reach for light objects; ability to type and work at a computer for extended periods of time as a primary job function.
- Ability to protect the confidentiality of highly sensitive and HIPPA protected information by learning and following all relevant policies and protocols and using sound judgment in the handling and sharing of that information.
- Driving on Casey business may require use of personal vehicle; adherence to vehicle safety guidelines and qualification for insurance is required.

The typical hiring range for this position in Seattle WA is $119425 to $140500. The full salary range for the role is $119425 to $161575. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidates job-related skills experience and expertise as evaluated during the interview process.
Casey Family Programs offers comprehensive benefits including medical dental and vision coverage accrual of 12 days of annual leave 12 days of sick leave10 paid holidays per year and each employee receives one personal holiday to use each calendar year. Employees that meet certain tenure qualifiers are eligible for up to eight weeks of parental leave for the birth or placement of a child for adoption or foster care. After the completion of 10 years of continuous full-time regular employment employees in good standing are permitted for a three-month sabbatical with pay.
