Description

Position Summary/objective of job:

The Fulfillment Planner works closely with various departments including Shop Operations Supply Chain and Logistics and Warehouse to plan and prioritize distribution of all finished products. This role analyzes multiple sets of data to generate warehouse and shop fulfillment transfers monitors delivery schedules and determines optimal frequency of shop deliveries to ensure timely and efficient fulfillment enhancing overall guest experience and satisfaction. This role is critical to ensuring that the right amount of ice cream is in the right warehouses and shops at the right time.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain fulfillment plans aligned with omni-channel demand forecasts for all Salt & Straw products
  • Implement fulfillment strategies for classic and seasonal product lines
  • Monitor inventory levels at shops regional warehouses and the central warehouse; manage transfers to maintain safety stock
  • Plan and coordinate delivery schedules to ensure shop in-stock targets are met
  • Track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve transit issues proactively
  • Lead planning and execution of fulfillment for one-off projects LTOs and events to ensure timely and complete delivery
  • Partner with shop operations to understand location-specific needs and trends
  • Deliver exceptional internal customer service to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Produce reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support monitoring and continuous improvement of fulfillment operations
  • Collaborate with Production Managers to align on capacity constraints and planning inputs
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis
  • Ensure 100% completion of cycle counts within the scheduled timeframe
  • Oversee finished goods movement to enforce FEFO (First-Expiring First-Out) inventory practices; escalate issues as needed
  • Coordinate new SKU/item setup with 3PL warehouse partners as required
  • Maintain strong relationships with regional 3PLs; monitor transaction flow and ensure responsive communication
  • Support Quality Assurance and Safety by documenting non-compliance managing lot traceability and escalating safety concerns

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in a planning role
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in supply chain business administration or a related area required
  • NetSuite or other ERP and planning/forecasting software experience
  • Experience working with 3PL and external logistics service providers is preferred
  • APICS or similar certification preferred
  • EDI experience preferred

Knowledge and Critical Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with individuals at various levels of the organization
  • Self-directed with organizational skills and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent quality orientation and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to be flexible and supportive when faced with ever-changing priorities
  • Math skills: Ability to work with percentages and fractions; ability to convert units of measure
  • Proficiency in MS Office specifically MS Excel
  • Fluency in English

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting 90% of the time
  • Walking 5% of the time
  • Standing 5% of the time
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
  • Frequent repetitive motion
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment including a computer keyboard mouse and telephone
  • Will be required to regularly talk hear and see
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but can vary in volume based on office occupancy
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment but may require time in a warehouse or production/kitchen environment with limited climate control
  • The Team Member may occasionally be exposed to extreme temperatures (coolers freezers)
  • Occasionally strong scents & odors depending on ingredients and cleaning
