So what does a Operation Manager do
Employee
- Ensure the smooth running of the day to day operation making sure Team Members are in the right place at the right time to enable a great experience to our guests
- Supervise guide and motivate Team Leaders & Team Members on the job in all departments
- Understand and role model the Atlas Values and associated behaviours
- Nurture a learning culture coaching and developing others to success
- Communicate effectively ensuring that Department Heads Team Leaders and Team Members are aware of information that will affect the day to day operations of the hotel as well as Atlas updates and priorities
- Support the Hotel Manager with carrying out annual job check-ins and objective settings for Department Heads
- Support the Department Heads and Team Leaders in carrying out job check-ins and objective settings for Team Members
- Support the Department Heads and Team Leaders in ensuring that all new employees receive a warm Atlas welcome and thorough induction
- Understand and ensure Atlas policies are adhered to when employee relations issues occur
- Ensure behaviour is challenged that is not in line with the Atlas values
- Organise and supervise all Team Members for Meetings & Events
Guest Experience
- Ensure all guests receive a great experience
- Role model the Atlas way with guests being front of house with employees and guests and interacting with guests on a daily basis
- Support the Hotel Manager to ensure the hotels pass quality evaluations
- Support the Hotel Manager with the relevant daily weekly and monthly checks
- Maintain awareness of guest feedback and develop plans for success in conjunction with Department Heads & Team Leaders
- Adherence to HI Brand Standards
- Support all Department Heads and Team Leaders to manage complaints using our service recovery principles Ensure cleanliness hygiene and Company standards are maintained in both public and private areas taking pride in the hotel and its employee team
- Demonstrate good local knowledge and proactively provide this to guests when required
- Maintain compliance standards
- Positively represent the Atlas brand
Investor
- Understand the hotel P&Ls and support the Hotel Manager and Department Heads to achieve budget targets
- Awareness of centres of excellence and how/when to reach out for support
- Drive Food & Beverage Revenue across all departments
- Ensure effective stock control & management
Other
- Zero tolerance approach to non-compliance ensuring all compliance standards are adhered to including H&S mandatory training GDPR financial controls and audit procedures and Atlas Hotels policies.
- Understand and adhere to Brand Standards as prescribed
- Support audits and compliance reviews at hotel level
- Take accountability for own development career progression and growth in role
