Position Overview
The Incline Industries Youth Engagement Worker will minister to youth involved in and connected to our Indoor Skatepark and the programs offered in that ministry space.
This position is part time.
The Incline Industries Youth Engagement Worker is responsible for the daily programming for youth. Duties include: managing and supervising volunteers connections with youth planning and execution of programs seeking community partnerships financial and otherwise and casting CAYUs vision to reach the programs goals and markers of impact.
Under the guidance of the Director of Youth Engagement the Incline Industries - Youth Engagement Worker is empowered to:
- Be a liaison with the local schools.
- Assist with the lunch programs for students in the living room area of Incline.
- Create curriculum for leadership programming.
- Set-up and operate canteen.
- Updating Social Media.
- Maintain Planning Center.
- Implement overall ministry through evangelism mentorship and discipleship. Participate in planning and engaging off-site programs.
- Meeting with supervisor regularly attending staff meetings and praying for other staff.
- Participate in recruiting and in the orientation of volunteers. Provide prayer support resources and encouragement for volunteer staff.
- Participate in and assist with all Central Alberta Youth Unlimited fundraising events.
- Assist in communicating to parents of students involved in the program. Represent CAYU/YFC positively to the community and seek to work with other agencies and ministries.
- Complete monthly Ministry Reports adhere to the CAYU/YFC Staff Policy Manual and abide by health and safety requirements.
- Pursue an active growing relationship with God by participating in a local church community and a small group or mentoring relationship.
What must the person have to thrive in this position
Professionalism in verbal and written communication.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Leadership skills especially in leading small groups of volunteers or youth.
Passion for mentorship discipleship and evangelism.
Ability to work on a team and independently while being a highly efficient time manager.
Ability to plan and coordinate meetings small groups and events.
At least two years experience working with youth.
Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
What are the working conditions
Administrative work at home CAYU office or coffee shop.
Collaborating with other CAYU staff.
Occasional evening work weekend work day trips and extended trips.
Training: organization-wide and hands-on training ongoing Supervision and feedback.
