Job Purpose
- Staff required to have experience with Manual handling for PC and Dysphagia training for assisting service users with eating and drinking. To provide support and a range of activities to adult service users with learning Disabilities and complex needs. To work as part of a team or on a one-to-one basis under direction both within a day service or community setting in line with individual support plans and assessed needs. The post holder will be working closely with and supporting vulnerable adults.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Attend to the personal care needs of service users as defined in the care/support plan and manual handling plans.
- Support service users to access a range of social and community activities to enhance independence and social inclusion.
- The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others including service users carers service professionals and members of the public.
- Adopting the use of effective listening skills and offering a range of alternative communication methods.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience of working with people with learning disabilities and complex needs is essential.
Essential Qualification Required
- NVQ Level 2 in Care/Health and Social care Diploma is essential.
- Learning Disability Qualifications (LDQ) is essential.
- PCC Minibus Driver Certificate or willingness to attend the training course and PCC Driver & Passenger Assistant Certificate or willingness to attend the training course is essential.
Additional information to note
- It s a shift role.
- The role requires a DBS check.
- A full driving license is essential.
