Job Description
Owens-Illinois General Inc. seeks in Perrysburg Ohio in a glass manufacturing plant to provide technical assistance on a diverse range of parameters in the refiners forehearths and feeders.
Responsibilities:
- Make inspections of the refiners forehearths and feeders and the associated refractory equipment.
- Work closely with Forming and Furnace department recommending changes in operational setups.
- Design work related to new working end layouts and equipment for major repairs and/or upgrades to licensee Joint Venture and O-I plants.
- Mentor junior team members and plant personnel in glass conditioning and glass quality troubleshooting aspects related to the forehearth operations.
Qualifications :
- Must have Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering Electromechanical Engineering Ceramic Engineering Chemical Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of experience in a glass manufacturing plant. The 5 years of experience must include 5 years of experience with forehearth glass forming and furnace operations. All experience may be acquired concurrently.
- Domestic travel up to 60% and international travel up to 10% required to be reimbursed by employer.
