Job Title: Cloud Operations SME
Location: Rockville MD (Onsite from Day 1)
Type: Contract
Must Have: AWS Background Kubernetes Terraform and Operations
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Cloud Operations Lead to manage and oversee cloud infrastructure operations with a primary focus on AWS. This role demands strong technical expertise in AWS cloud environments a deep understanding of troubleshooting complex cloud issues and the ability to lead a high-performing operations team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in team coordination mentoring and optimizing cloud operations for performance reliability and cost efficiency.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise and hands-on experience with AWS (Kubernetes EC2 S3 VPC IAM Lambda RDS CloudFormation CloudWatch etc.).
- Solid background in cloud infrastructure management automation (IaC) and monitoring.
- Deep troubleshooting skills across compute network and storage in AWS.
- Experience with incident management and problem resolution in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with tools like CloudWatch Terraform CloudFormation Ansible or similar.
Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in functional team leadership-task planning mentoring and team development.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to guide team members and promote cloud best practices across the organization.
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced critical operations environment.
Other Requirements:
- Must be available onsite in Rockville MD from Day 1.
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g. healthcare finance) is a plus.
- AWS Certifications (e.g. AWS SysOps Admin DevOps Engineer Solutions Architect) are highly preferred.
