Job Title

Assistant Coach 1 - Track & Cross Country

Job Summary/Basic Function

Work directly with the Head mens and womens track and cross country coach to organize and administer all aspects of our NCAA Division I mens and womens track and cross country programs. Essential duties: day to day coaching of assigned student athletes; individual skill instruction recruiting academically sound and competitive student athletes; scheduling to enhance NCAA championship opportunities; organize and arrange team travel plans; oversee and promote compliance of NCAA rules among staff student athletes and representatives of athletic interest; serve as a positive role model for the student athletes and budgeting assigned funds for track and cross country programs. The incumbent will oversee on and off-campus recruiting assist with meet preparations and player improvements. The Incumbent will work to enhance the image of the university and promote positive community relations.

Required Education

Bachelors degree required. Masters degree in HHP or a related field preferred.

Required Related Experience

Two (2) years experience as a track and field coach at the professional college level required. Graduate Assistantships will qualify as relevant experience.

Desirable Related Experience

Four years as a college or professional track athlete with experience as an athlete and/or coach on a full or part time basis preferred.
