Adjunct Faculty Position Digital Photography (VRTS 140)

NHTI Concords Community College
Position Type: Part-time adjunct
Semester: Fall 2025
Compensation: $800 - $950 per credit based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience)

Position Overview:
NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach Digital Photography. This course provides students with essential knowledge in digital photography composition editing printing quality digital images as well as presentation and critical analysis of photographs with a historical perspective focusing on practical applications and real-world relevance.

Course Description:
This course addresses the basic tools techniques and aesthetics of digital photography. The use of the digital camera will be taught through a series of lectures project-based assignments demonstrations and discussions. Formal emphasis is placed on the creative use of camera controls exposure digital imaging software (including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom Classic) and an awareness of critical issues in contemporary photography.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
  • Facilitate class discussions assignments and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
  • Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: MFA MA or MSE degree from recognized college or university.
  • Experience: Teaching experience at the secondary and/or college level required.
  • Residency: Must reside in NH VT ME MA RI or CT.
  • Expertise: Digital photography composition editing and printing quality digital images. Ideal candidates also have extensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite including Photoshop Lightroom and Illustrator.
