Job Description

Education:Valid Ohio Special Education Teaching Certificate/License to teach children with disabilities


Experience:Previous experience working in a public educational setting desired.
Skills Knowledge and Responsibilities:

  • Complete all new and annual Individual Service Plans within stated timelines.
  • Participate on the Intervention Assistance Team to provide assistance to students and to determine whether a disability is suspected.
  • When a disability is suspected participate as part of the evaluation team.
  • Assist and support nonpublic principals faculty and parents in understanding and responding to district state and federal compliance matters.
  • Assist school-based staff in responding to parental complaints or charges of policy violation.


INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT AND SERVICE DELIVERY:

  • Your primary role is to serve children who are identified as having an educational disability as determined by an Evaluation Team Report (ETR) and to meet the timelines of the supporting service documents.
  • Advocate for all children and provide support to nonpublic staff by improving meaningful student access to the curriculum.
  • Deliver services as identified on Services Plans
  • Prepare progress reports in FOCUS for all identified students.
  • Collaborate with Child Find and/or school teams to provide data-driven intervention prior to identification.
  • Consult with principals building-level staff and colleagues regarding best practices in providing standards-based instruction to diverse learners (i.e. Universal Design for Learning inclusive practices service delivery instructional technology co-teaching access to the general curriculum etc.)
  • Proactively build instructional capacity by working with school-based teams and individual service providers regarding incorporation of evidence-based practices into daily instruction.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal/Manager or his/her designee
