Job Duties
Virginia Military Institute is excited to announce we are applications for a Full-Time
Administrative Assistant to help provide support to the Biology Department.
Job Duties:
Performs a variety of administrative support for the department requiring well-developed
interpersonal organizational and technical skills.
Ensures optimum efficiency and accuracy of office operations.
Assists in maintaining student records organizing faculty and student meetings planning events
preparing and filing departmental correspondence submitting textbook orders preparing travel
forms arranging travel reimbursement requests managing records and the department budget
collecting data maintaining inventories and other responsibilities defined by the department
head.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants should enjoy working with a diverse group of students and faculty
Excellent written oral and listening skills
Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills; Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
Office work environment experience in the Higher Education
Additional Considerations
Additional Qualifications:
Prior experience in an academic environment
Experience with State of Virginia Procurement system (EVA)
