People with Disability Australia (PWDA) is seeking a values-driven and experienced people leader to join our team as the Senior Manager Individual Advocacy (NSW).
This pivotal leadership role is responsible for guiding our dedicated team of Advocates Project Officers and Client Service Officers in delivering high-quality trauma-informed advocacy and intake services across NSW.

About the Role
As the Senior Manager Individual Advocacy (NSW) you will be responsible for the operational leadership of our NSW Individual Advocacy teams. You will support them to continue to deliver high-quality person-centred and trauma informed services aligned with the National Standards for Disability Services.
This role is focused on creating a positive and supportive employee experience with an emphasis on wellbeing engagement and professional growth. It includes providing regular one-on-one supervision and case reviews as well as coaching and mentoring team members to build their confidence skills and collective capability.
This will be done in partnership with the Senior Manager Individual Advocacy (QLD) to ensure consistent approaches to people and program leadership.
The is an office-based role in our modern Surry Hills office opposite central station making the commute a breeze.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership supervision coaching and development to a high-performing team.
Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure effective and consistent service delivery across urban rural and remote communities ensuring compliance with the National Standards for Disability Services.
Embed trauma-informed and disability-affirming practices.
Drive continuous quality improvement by leading engaging and supporting staff to contribute to quality improvement of organisational systems and processes.
Work in partnership with our QLD counterpart to ensure consistent approaches across states.
Represent PWDA with stakeholders including government service providers and the broader community.
What Youll Bring
Superior people skills youre a motivator communicator and collaborator.
Proven experience in people leadership both face to face and remotely particularly in human services or trauma-informed environments.
Deep understanding of the disability sector and relevant standards especially the National Standards for Disability Services.
Previous experience working with people with disability.
A strong understanding of disability rights and advocacy principles.
Strong operational and service delivery expertise with a track record of driving performance quality and continuous improvement.
Ability to navigate complex service systems and support teams to thrive under pressure.
Experience engaging and working with diverse communities including people with disability First Peoples LGBTQIA and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Exceptional interpersonal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable
Lived or family experience with disability.
Experience in non-profit or advocacy settings.
Knowledge of government funding and compliance frameworks.
