Job Description

Universal Destinations & Experiences Internship Program:

JOB SUMMARY:

Intern will develop skills in the fields of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Geospatial Technologies and critical thinking in the realms of asset management. This position will support the deployment organization and coordination of a GIS at Universal Orlando Resort. This position will also be required to utilize electronic spreadsheets programs for data manipulation to create authoritative data sets. This intern will develop these skills in a collaborative environment with other driven professionals.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates to identify seek and promote geospatial asset management.
  • Collects utility field asset data with GPS device.
  • Organizes utility asset data for incorporation into ArcGIS system.
  • Assists in ArcGIS Application development to analyze utility asset information.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • In pursuit of an Associate Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
  • A transcript is required upon application.

PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Preferred majors include: Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Urban Planning Computer Science Management of Information Systems Geographic Information Systems Geosciences Environmental Sciences or similar.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro ArcGIS Online and/or other ESRI products.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD or similar drafting platforms.
  • Basic understanding of Python or other relevant coding language.
  • Exposure to Power BI MS Excel MS Project MS Planner Power Automate
  • Familiarity with GPS technology for field data collection.

  • This internship will be an in-person experience based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university and must have a graduation date later than April 2026.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
  • All of our internships are paid and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
