Job Description

The Fleet Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and providing leadership to the Logistic/Fleet Administrators and drivers ensuring compliance with the Department of Transportation regulations and safety standards. They will coordinate shipping schedules with sales and warehouse personnel release of orders and setting delivery appointments.

Shift: Monday-Friday 6 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Pay: $70000 - 80000/annually based on experience

Quarterly Bonus potential!

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversees and coordinates departmental responsibilities with Logistic administrative personnel to ensure all duties are performed accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with the Loading Supervisor to ensure the correct product is on the appropriate truck in a safe and economical sequence including consideration of efficiency of unloading product at its destination.
  • Identifies and makes suggestions to improve safety productivity and accuracy by ensuring compliance with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations while maintaining required documentation and actively participates in DOT audits. This includes drivers files DQ (Driver Qualification) files drivers logbooks accident reporting equipment maintenance safety and vehicle markings.
  • Oversees and manages the shipping schedules and routes to meet customer requirements and the drivers needs adjusting as needed to guarantee overall timeliness and customer satisfaction.
  • Coaches and develops teams to ensure overall safety and effective business practices for the success of truck routes and their deliveries.
  • Evaluates performance of department employees recommends and initiates disciplinary actions and pay increases as warranted.
  • Monitors hours and paid time off for drivers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

  • Minimum of three years experience in supervision scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Prior experience in fleet operations.
  • Thorough understanding of DOT regulations and warehouse/distribution operations.
  • Analytical skills sensibility decisiveness flexibility resourcefulness.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees management and customers.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • CDL License
  • Ability to obtain and keep a Powered Industrial Truck license.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel is primarily local during the business day although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
