Overview
Job Skills / Requirements
- Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee the complete range of financial activities ensuring robust internal controls and adherence to company policies.
- Lead the monthly closing process ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with an external accounting firm on year-end financials to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Analysis & Reconciliation:
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop implement and monitor financial controls to safeguard company assets.
- Forecasting & Budgeting:
- Assist with forecasting and budgeting initiatives to support short- and long-term financial planning.
- Provide insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance.
- Cash Management:
- Oversee and monitor overall cash position of all entities communicating to team as needed.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead mentor and manage a team of 2-5 associates ensuring professional growth and operational efficiency.
- Foster a collaborative team environment encouraging open communication and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership role overseeing financial operations including team management.
- Proven experience in financial reporting monthly closings and working with external accounting firms on year-end financials including experience with retail entities.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in performing account reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to leading a high-performing team.
- Ideally experience with an ERP system ideally WinTeam.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Experience with sales tax reporting.
- Experience with Payroll Taxes
Additional Requirements:
- Must reside in Michigan and be available to work from our Troy Michigan office.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and regulatory compliance within the financial sector.
- A proactive detail-oriented mindset with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Education Requirements (All)
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
