The Role

As Sous Chef youll be the right hand to our Head Chef and a key player in the smooth high-quality operation of our kitchen. Youll lead by example motivate the team and help craft a seasonal sustainable menu that keeps our food exciting and true to our values.


In the Head Chefs absence youll take the reins overseeing service production and team performance with calm capable leadership.


Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the day-to-day running of the kitchen alongside the Head Chef
  • Taking full charge of the kitchen during the Head Chefs absence
  • Maintaining high food quality consistency and presentation across all dishes
  • Helping design and deliver an innovative seasonal menu
  • Supporting junior kitchen staff through mentoring training and team development
  • Upholding food safety cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times
  • Collaborating closely with the Caf Manager Front of House and Barista teams
  • Contributing to kitchen cost controls and performance targets (COGS WAGs)


We are looking for someone who is:

  • Calm clear and confident in leading a kitchen team
  • Obsessed with quality and passionate about delivering an amazing food experience
  • A great communicator who thrives in a collaborative team environment
  • Comfortable taking initiative and managing multiple priorities
  • Available to work weekends
  • Experienced in a similar leadership kitchen role (formal culinary training a bonus)
  • Tech-aware and comfortable with digital systems and checklists
