Job Description
Are you a quick learner Are you organized and detail oriented Do you have dental office experience Can you speak a second language Do you want to make a difference in your community The Rockbridge Area Health Center is currently recruiting a full-time Billing Specialist to join the Finance Team.
The Billing Specialist maximizes reimbursements for patient services by performing complex clerical and accounting functions for patient billing. They review claims follow-up on submitted claims resubmit claims after correcting inaccuracies and research proper billing techniques.
Education Credentials and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year experience in billing procedures in a medical facility.
- Front and back-office healthcare experience preferably in primary care.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Certification in billing or coding preferred.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of billing guidelines and policies of Medicare Medicaid and other third-party billing to ensure comprehensive payment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal/external customers while maintaining a professional approach.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and billing/healthcare systems.
