Job Description

Join a Mission That Matters Become an Admissions Specialist at Lyon College School of Dental Medicine!

Lyon College School of Dental Medicine invites passionate student-centered professionals to apply for the role of Admissions Specialist Student Affairs Office Coordinator. This full-time 12-month position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of future dental professionals.


In this dynamic role youll be the welcoming face and operational backbone of our Admissions and Student Affairs officehelping prospective students navigate the admissions journey and supporting current students through our rigorous three-year DMD program.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist all visitors while ensuring a professional courteous and supportive experience.
  • Manage incoming calls and inquiries with accuracy professionalism and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Accurately input and update student information in admissions software and electronic files.
  • Support daily office operations including administrative tasks correspondence and document organization.
  • Maintain office supply inventory and manage incoming/outgoing mail.
  • Assist with planning and execution of interview days orientation events and admissions programming.
  • Provide admissions information and directions to prospective students as needed.
  • Process electronic transcripts test scores and application materials.
  • Train and supervise assigned work-study students in office procedures.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and CRM support as needed.
  • Represent LCSDM at off-campus events such as college fairs and high school visits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with at least two years of recent experience in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience in student services with knowledge of best practices to support student success.
  • Strong interpersonal written and presentation skills with a collaborative approach to working with faculty staff and institutional stakeholders.
  • Proficient in basic computer functions including admissions-specific software spreadsheets calendars and virtual platforms.
  • A proactive communicator tech-savvy advisor and enthusiastic team player with a passion for helping students thrive in college and beyond.
  • Empathy adaptability and a sense of humor are essential qualities.
  • Valid drivers license required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to sit for extended periods of time (i.e. computer).
  • Physical ability to use the telephone to conduct business.
  • Physical ability to stand and to lift moderate weight.
