Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Survivor Reseach Coordinator provides support to survivorship clinical trials and performs necessary procedures required by the clinical trial protocol. This role coordinates trial activities with providers nursing leadership registered nurses and clinical trial coordinators in accordance with The University of Kansas Hospital Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
The mission for the Survivorship Center is to improve whole person health for patients and families by focusing on identifying and addressing needs early and often throughout the course of a patients cancer journey. Our aim is to be the destination for patients who want to receive the best care the model for providers who want to deliver the best care and the leader for scientists who discover what the best care is.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Must be able to perform the professional clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Collaborate with investigators coordinators and nursing leaders to review and prepare for upcoming clinical trials. Assist in providing education and training to staff regarding new and existing clinical trials. Coordinates and performs study assessments in accordance with clinical trial protocols balancing trial requirements with patient needs. Ensuring that the welfare and safety of all patients participating in clinical trials are protected and that all legal privacy and confidentiality protection measures are implemented. Maintains strict patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations and applicable law. Responsible for accurate and timely data collection documentation and reporting of all procedures to primary study coordinator for data entry. Performs cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) in accordance with established standards ACSM guidelines and department policies. Maintains current knowledge in exercise cardiopulmonary exercise testing equipment including quality control troubleshooting errors and ensuring routine maintenance is completed. Follows appropriate infection control procedures based on testing standards and hospital policies. Required Education and Experience- High School Graduate
- Bachelor of Science Exercise Science Kinesiology or other health and fitness related field
- At least 6 months experience with performing CPET procedures
Preferred Education and Experience- Masters Degree in related field
- 1 or more years Clinical experience prefer experience within cardiopulmonary rehabilitation

Required Licensure and Certification- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) upon Hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) upon Hire
