Job Description

Digital Support Assistant

The Students Union is the focal point of campus life and we have exciting opportunities for University of Warwick students to join our team!

Whats on offer:

Hourly Rate:12.71 plus holiday pay calculated at 15.55% (equivalent of 35 days paid leave per year)

Duration:Fixed Term Contract until 4th July 2026 (subject to a 6-month probationary period) working throughout the academic year 2025/2026.

Hours:You will be expected to work an average of 10-20 hours per week throughout term time; although we cannot guarantee these hours. Working times can be flexible.

Location:Warwick Students Union Coventry with some flexibility for remote working.

Closing Date:9am on Wednesday 18th June 2025 - This vacancy and advert will be closed earlier if sufficient applications are received. Therefore it is strongly advised that you submit your application as soon as possible.

Interview Date: Tuesday 24th June 2025 with interviews being held either in person or via MS Teams (you must be available to attend an interview on this date if shortlisted)

Whats the role
As Digital Support Assistant you will have responsibility for a variety of activities from adding pages events and news articles to the SU websites to updating our other Digital Applications and creating email templates.

With no two days the same youll support our Digital Applications Manager and the wider Communications and Marketing team in delivering digital communications to the students of Warwick

This is a great role for someone looking to gain digital comms experience and a fantastic opportunity for the right person to really make a difference.

Reporting to the Digital Applications Manager this role will:

  • Assist with the day to day updating of the SU Digital Applications
  • Add events and news articles to the SU website
  • Add new pages and update existing content on the SU websites
  • Create HTML email templates as required.
  • Support with responding to general enquiries and troubleshooting.
  • Manage workload and prioritise activity in line with demands and in agreement with line manager
  • Attend regular team meetings and 1-2-1s with your line manager
  • Undertake all administrative work in relation to the role as necessary
  • Complete additional tasks as required as part of the Communications & Marketing Department

Who are you
Youll be an enthusiastic and reliable person with a positive approach to work in this interesting and varied role. Your strengths will be your passion for digital communications along with your efficiency and excellent organisational skills. You will have working knowledge and experience of using HTML 5 CSS3 and jQuery.

Its essential that you have knowledge of any scripting language (like PHP) and that you have awareness of UI/UX best practices. You will also have experience in uploading content and data using website CMS and be proficient with Microsoft Office.

Youll be a quick learner a logical thinker and be able to process and interpret information in a timely manner. Youll be motivated passionate about your work and have a commitment to delivering a great service for Warwick students. But above all youll come to work ready to make an impact excited about working in an environment where you will be encouraged to contribute ideas be part of a team and make a difference.
