Primary Job Role
Ensure rental equipment is Rent Ready cosmetically: Maintain all rental equipment for urgent / immediate shipment to customer. This includes regularly blowing out vacuuming power washing detailing dusting decaling touch-up painting tire shining all equipment. Ensure rental equipment is Rent Ready from a safety and liability perspective: All equipment has the proper ladders handrails jackstands landing pads fire extinguisher(s) operations manual(s) bungee cords etc. Decals ensuring proper operation are installed and legible. Trailer chassis breakaway batteries function properly. Ensure rental equipment is Rent Ready mechanically: Voltage is set properly to customer requirements. Batteries are less than three years old and legibly dated as such. Filters are within CAT specifications and do not need replacing. Fluids are topped off: coolant and oil levels are good. Fuel is at the proper level for transport. Breaker will open and close. Machine runs for 30 minutes without any problems.
Receive rental / support equipment: Perform official Check In to report hours fuel level any damage cable count and determine if unit(s) need to be serviced / repaired. Notify local Supervisor local branch service shop Leadman and Fleet Service Coordinator accordingly. Confirm License Tag and DOT are within expiration period coordinate with Truck Shop if DOT needs to be updated. Maintain all pertinent equipment data on communal computer platform: model serial numbers (package generator and engine) hours availability/readiness service needs tag number and expiration VIN number GPS number DOT expiration and comments.
Load / unload equipment on trucks utilizing a lift truck and or overhead crane. Retrieve equipment from inventory yard utilizing a farm tractor lift truck or yard jockey. Refuel add oil and engine fluids to equipment as needed. Assist Service shops as requested. Keep the rental yard and working locations (warehouse / shop bays) clean organized and free of debris. Maintain order on yard by model size.
Weekly function runs for at least 30 minutes of equipment that is currently on the yard. This exercise ensures that the units run as they should and minimizes minor service problem calls out in the field for items like dead batteries. Utilize Rentals fuel filtration system and load bank whenever possible to ensure optimum equipment performance. Communicate and coordinate with other shops and departments to get rental fleet work completed (generator shop truck shop fab shop paint shop transportation etc.)
Count sort and place support equipment (cable tails mechanical hardware hose fittings duct) on pallets shelves racks and/or storage bins. Categorize and label support
equipment with identifying information. Maintain a neat and organized warehouse including but not limited to: labeling all ropaks coiling and banding 50 cable sections using cable spooler combining all like tails into specific ropaks etc. Take and record inventory weekly. Ensure upload of manual inventory to digital Yard Walk each Friday afternoon before close of business. Maintain this inventory count year-round and participate in the annual corporate inventory audit.
Coordinate with the Rental Support Reps at other branches to ensure each branch has proper levels of ancillary equipment and supplies. Prepare parcels for mailing and/or looping to other branches. Communicate and coordinate with outside vendors and haulers as needed (freight providers tire repair companies door repair companies GPS installers etc.). Update Ring Power stakeholders as a
Participate in On Call rotation. This requires after-hours response / work on nights and weekends. If there is an emergency rental during assigned On Call rotation Rental Support Rep must respond to call from Supervisor within 15 minutes. Frequently the RSR will need to drive to the branch to prep a unit for shipment and meet the transportation provider and load the equipment on a truck. Occasionally drive to job sites and assist with the assembling/disassembling of rental equipment. Pull cable and hose on the job site to assist customer with set up of rental.
Proper installation of equipment including but not limited to cable water hose chiller hose air hose and ductwork on various types of rental equipment cam lock fittings on 4/0 cable and cam lock fittings on various sizes of water hose.
Performs other duties as assigned.
