EduTalent Group is delighted to be working in close partnership with an exceptional SEN provision to recruit a dedicated and inspiring Class Teacher.
As a Class Teacher you will provide outstanding teaching and learning to young people aged 7 19 in a nurturing inclusive and high-expectation environment. You will deliver an engaging differentiated curriculum that includes accredited qualifications up to GCSE level and play a key role in supporting the educational and emotional development of students with special educational needs.
Working closely with Teaching Assistants and leadership you will foster a classroom culture that prioritises safety creativity and achievement helping learners progress socially emotionally and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Create a safe supportive and stimulating classroom environment
Plan resource and deliver engaging lessons tailored to a range of needs and abilities
Supervise and support Teaching Assistants in your classroom
Teach accredited courses up to GCSE level using creative student-centred strategies
Promote high standards of behaviour and learning across the school
Regularly assess student progress and set personalised learning targets
Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student progress
Collaborate with school leadership to develop schemes of work and intervention strategies
Contribute to school culture through break/lunchtime supervision and extracurricular activities
Participate in staff development Maybo training and seminar days as required
Ensure compliance with school policies including safeguarding behaviour and health & safety
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching young people aged 7 19
Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
Ability to support children with a range of SEN
Awareness of National Curriculum requirements across all key stages
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
ICT competence and ability to use digital tools in the classroom
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and boundaries with students
Desirable:
Experience working in an SEN or alternative provision
Knowledge of the Steiner Waldorf curriculum and ethos
Experience delivering extracurricular activities
Passion for innovative educational approaches
Experience supporting pupils with behavioural challenges
