Job Description
Hiring Opportunity: Louisville OH
1st shift: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
Our client is looking for a Production Planner to join their team! Our client is celebrating over 75 years of manufacturing success within the metal fabrication and tube bending space and show no signs of slowing down.
The Production Planner would be responsible for working with all departments to ensure that manufacturing jobs are optimally planned for efficient production materials planning maintaining inventory levels and product life cycle.
Qualified candidates for the Production Planner would have a background with Metal Fab with at least 2 years of experience in Metal Planning forecasting working on or with a shop floor and coordinating material flows through production.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan production based on customer demand forecasts and historical data.
- Prioritize operations to ensure maximum efficiency of production
- Monitor jobs to ensure they are started and completed on time
- Maintain strong working relationships and communications with manufacturing and suppliers to
confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure
on-time deliveries including timely resolution communication and mitigation of future potential
problems.
- Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changes.
- Proactively report product and material availability issues.
- Manage the inter-company flow of materials between warehouse locations.
- Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes obsolescence and the introduction of new
suppliers and/or materials due to new product development
- Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service including
recommending solutions resources and alternative supply options.
- Complete special projects and assignments as requested
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in production planning supply chain or manufacturing operations.
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle Microsoft Dynamics).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
(preferred).
- Proficiency in production scheduling and forecasting.
- Strong analytical skills including proficiency in Excel data visualization tools and inventory
management systems.
- Understanding of capacity planning and workflow optimization.
