Job Description

As a Product Owner the qualifying candidate will oversee the development of Embedded Software/Firmware/Software products from start to finish to ensure they meet the customer needs and preferences. They will also be an individual contributor to the software development team. Their main duties include determining the overall vision of Embedded/Firmware/Software products deciding which features each product will have according to customer preferences and managing the entire development process.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assignments include development of new applications features enhancements modifications and corrections to existing firmware.
- Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
- Defining the vision/goal for the team product and maintaining a cohesive vision throughout the process
- Managing the product backlog and prioritizing the tasks based on changing requirements
- Overseeing all stages of product creation including design and development
- Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process
- Working with the product team/business unit and end-users to deliver updates and status reports
- Participating in scrum planning reviews and sprints
- Works with the stakeholders (Business Manager and/or Customer) to define plan and prioritize the Product Backlog (refinement)
- Create User Stories and Acceptance Criteria ensuring stories clearly communicate customer/stakeholder needs to the development team; work with the team to clarify stories as necessary
- Plan and prioritize product development and product feature backlog
- Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure theyre clearly understood by relevant teams
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree/Masters degree in a technical field such as engineering computer science with a strong embedded firmware/software development background
- At least 4 years in C/C coding experience
- 2 years of technical product owner experience and analyzing business requirements
- 2 year in leading a scrum and scrum of scrum team(s)
- In-depth knowledge of scrum and agile Software Development Methodology
- Working knowledge of product development architecture
- Proficiency in the use of analytic tools and strong analytical thinking
- Experience using JIRA or tools like JIRA
- Strong leadership experience
- Ability to prioritize effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication including presentation skills
- Ability to work with large teams and a variety of people including users product development team members and management team members
Desired Skills
- Agile coaching certification
- Few years of management experience
