Job Description

Responsibilities

Perform requirements analysis to understand the needs of the customer

Derive additional system requirements and allocate requirements to sub-systems

Manage requirements and establish requirements traceability using software applications similar to DOORS or SysML

Develop system architectural models using Model Based Systems Engineering to support requirements development and derivation

Identify technical risks and develop mitigation

Lead training system design reviews.

Lead training system Hardware/Software Integration (HSI) efforts.

Coordinate Training System Testing with various engineering disciplines and the Test group.

Provide expertise in developing Training System documentation including Test Procedures.

Maintain a positive working relationship with the customer and training system end users.

Identify and request pertinent technical data from the customer or end user program office in support of maintenance training system upgrades.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in a STEM field

System test experience preferred

Demonstrated basic ability to use 3D CAD tools

Demonstrated ability to read and understand engineering drawings

Demonstrated requirements analysis skills and ability to trace requirements to customer specifications.

Demonstrated skills in organizing test plans and procedures

Personal computer skills (e.g. word processing spread sheet presentation graphics)

Effective written and oral communication skills

Established leadership skills

Effective ability to organize and prioritize program tasks

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple consistencies requiring attention

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance

10-25% travel required depending on the phase of the contract

About This Role

Textron Systems Electronic Systems (TSES) a Textron Inc. company delivers innovative high-fidelity simulation and training solutions to the commercial and military markets while providing superior technical support and customer service. The TSES business focuses on Military Simulation Mission & Maintenance Training from our facility in Goose Creek SC (Charleston).

TSES is currently seeking candidates for a Systems Engineer II for our Goose Creek SC operations.

The Systems Engineer is a highly motivated self-driven team player that has the ability to perform in a fast changing business environment. The preferred candidate will understand and employ the systems engineering process in the design and modeling of the system architecture for large scale military training devices; have the ability to understand and extract system level requirements from customer technical specifications and parse and allocate requirements to mechanical electrical and software disciplines; and guide the system integration activity using test methodologies and verification methods. This candidate will have a strong desire for innovation and have the ability to identify and incorporate modern hardware technologies and software applications. This candidate will lead a multi-discipline engineering staff throughout the system development life-cycle. The Systems Engineer will lead the project engineering team and reports to the Systems Engineering Manager.
