Job Description

Mercy Home for Children is recruiting for the Assistant Coordinator of Support Programs this position is responsible for ensuring innovative and effective programs through the appropriate support and guidance of staff in the respective programs. Assists with the management and control of Support Programs to include all grant-funded enrichment programs Creative Arts Community Unity Day Habilitation without Walls and other Therapeutic Services including but not limited; to recreation respite gardening and mentoring programs for the organization. The Assistant Coordinator works collaboratively with the Coordinator to maintain

OPWDDs regulatory and fiscal compliance in all programs. Works with residence managers and assistant managers on selected projects and activities. Provides assistance with implementation of new initiatives to enhance all programs for continuous partnerships with residential inclusion and events. Represents the Agency by promoting and modeling the mission and core values of the Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Home.

Requirements


Coordinate lead and assist in all agency recreation activities such as: Mercy Home Discos Special Events Family Spirit Day Picnic Volunteer Fairs Family Support Workshops Music & Art Programs Holiday events Bingo etc.

Prepare communications such as memos emails invoices reports & flyers for the Coordinator and the department.

Responsible for ordering supplies creating inventory supply list and tracking supplies for the department.

Maintaining organization structures of all assigned program sites. Ensuring creation of activity Calendars for Day Program and related programs.

Work to support and coordinate activities in all programs.

Develop organize and support the agency programs to ensure all agency and other regulatory standards are met.

Communicate on grant outcomes and obtain all required information and paperwork and ensure that complete information is obtained to meet deadlines

Consult and coordinate with the Coordinator of Support Programs on services provided to all participants as required by regulatory guidance.

Assist Coordinator with consulting and implementation for Grant initiatives.

Ensure that all community support programs grant programs and billing documentation are maintained in an organized manner.

Work with the Coordinator of Support Programs in the development expansion and supervision of; Saturday Respite Day Habilitation and Community Habilitation Programs.

Accurately record weekly Medicaid Respite billing documentation as directed.

Participant in expansion of community support programs.


Minimum Requirements: BA/BS degree preferred & Valid and clean New York State Drivers License is required.

Minimum one year supervisory /program management experience & two years experience with the developmentally disabled

population. Prior knowledge of Medicaid and billing as outlined in OPWDD guidelines is preferred.

In addition highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities detail-oriented able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.


This is a part-time position up to 20 hours per week & eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $1K.
