The Events Coordinator will be an integral part of the Recruitment & External Relations (RER) team at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. The RER team is responsible for student recruitment marketing internal and external communications award nominations media relations special events and management of the schools website. As one of the nations top-ranked schools of nursing the Events Coordinator will be essential in coordinating events to enhance the schools reputation.
A sampling of events this individual will be responsible for includes but is not limited to: commencement ceremonies White Coat ceremony awards galas luncheons lectures and conferences. Events may be in-person virtual or both.
Job Summary
Coordinates official events and other events in-person and virtually. Oversees vendors event components budget and event marketing.
Essential Functions
Essential Functions of the Events Coordinator include the following but are not limited to the ability to:
Act as the liaison with stakeholders
Negotiate contracts with vendors
Create budgets and track revenue and expenses
Effectively communicate with various internal and external audiences
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Coordinate with speakers and other event guests
Advertise events send invitations etc.
Coordinate and train event volunteers staff members and students
Coordinate with the venue a/v providers food and beverage providers other vendors etc.
Track registrations
Maintain events calendar
Physical Effort
Moderate physical effort may be required for this position. Candidate must be able to walk sit or stand for long periods of time. Candidate may be required to move tables carry boxes and lift up to 30 pounds.
