Job Description

Description of Work

The primary purpose of the CES II is to assist the Farm Management in the overall management of row crop vegetables hay and poultry operations. Training of offenders and staff at Enterprise Farm and various state locations. This position primarily works in the daily operation of the poultry operation but will also assist with row crop and vegetable production at times. This position is also responsible for the tool inventory for poultry operation. This position will perform the necessary maintenance of the equipment operated in the cost center. This position is responsible for raising pullets and daily egg production along with maintaining accurate spray field records of irrigated wastewater. This position will require occasional weekend work. Work must be closely monitored to comply with quality and quantity standards NCDAC policies safety policies and all other applicable laws policies and regulations. The CES II will be responsible to maintain a Class C license as well as a pesticide and wastewater license.

Management Preference
  • The CES II will be responsible to maintain a Class C license as well as a pesticide and wastewater license.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a NC License (Public Operator) in Agricultural Pest/ Plant within 6 months of hire.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and a minimum of two years of related industry/service experience;

or

an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience



Necessary Special Requirements

Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission

Plant Specific Special Requirements
Agriculture - NC Pesticide License and NC Wastewater License
Cannery - Low Acid and Acidified Food Production certification must be obtained within one year of hire
Laundry - Certified Professional Laundry Manager or Certified Laundry and Linen Manager certification
Braille - Certified Braille Transcriber certificate must be obtained within 18 months of hire
