Description of Work
The primary purpose of the CES II is to assist the Farm Management in the overall management of row crop vegetables hay and poultry operations. Training of offenders and staff at Enterprise Farm and various state locations. This position primarily works in the daily operation of the poultry operation but will also assist with row crop and vegetable production at times. This position is also responsible for the tool inventory for poultry operation. This position will perform the necessary maintenance of the equipment operated in the cost center. This position is responsible for raising pullets and daily egg production along with maintaining accurate spray field records of irrigated wastewater. This position will require occasional weekend work. Work must be closely monitored to comply with quality and quantity standards NCDAC policies safety policies and all other applicable laws policies and regulations. The CES II will be responsible to maintain a Class C license as well as a pesticide and wastewater license.

Necessary Special Qualifications- Must be eligible for certification by the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. ClickHEREfor specific certification requirements.
- Must be at least 20 years of age and a citizen of the United States.
- Must possess a valid drivers license. Pass Psychological testing as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
- Pass Physical Examination as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
- Pass Drug Screening as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
- Attend and successfully complete (6) weeks of Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at a Training Facility.
- Employees shall be scheduled for BCOT during their 2nd month of employment.

- Proven knowledge of poultry row crop or vegetable production operations. Specifically pullet poultry layers soybean corn wheat and/or vegetable production.
- Demonstrated ability to scout crops and livestock for pests/disease and have the necessary knowledge of pesticides and their uses to plan to control the pest/ disease.
Management Preference- The CES II will be responsible to maintain a Class C license as well as a pesticide and wastewater license.
- Must have the ability to obtain a NC License (Public Operator) in Agricultural Pest/ Plant within 6 months of hire.
