Project & Development Services - MENA
We bring a life-cycle perspective to our clients from development solutions to our core services in programme project and cost management and consulting in digital solutions tenancy management sustainability leisure & entertainment and workplace & design.
About the Role
The Cost Manager position within our Project & Development Services (PDS) team in Cairo is responsible for delivering comprehensive cost management services across the project lifecycle. This role involves leading a team of Assistant and Junior Cost Managers while ensuring commercial control of projects and providing value-driven solutions to optimize client outcomes.
What this job involves:
- As a Cost Manager the candidate will be leading a team of assistants and juniors to undertake the job responsibilities to be aligned with the business target through the senior management reporting to.
- Provide support to cost and commercial leadership in the delivery of pre- and post-contract services.
- Manage and update project budgets.
- Take suitable commercial meeting minutes.
- Use CostX Excel and other Microsoft Office programs to an advanced level.
- Work pre-contract including: reviewing detailed measurements sections of BOQs handle tender query responses manage the PQQ process with support and input into value engineering at each design stage.
- Work post-contract including: being strong in contract administration comfortable with site walks with project teams prepare cash flow reports draft monthly payment recommendations and weekly commercial dashboards managing variations and assist in closing out projects and claims/variations.
Desired skills and experience:
- Previous experience working in the Middle East.
- Degree in a related subject (BSc Quantity Surveying).
- MRICS would be advantageous but not essential.
- Hardworking proactive individual with a strong desire to learn and progress with an eye for detail and a passion for high standards.
- Excellent pre and post-contract technical cost and commercial management skills.
- Articulate in written and oral communication.
- Excellent prioritization and self-management skills and ability to work in a high-demanding environment.
* Preference will be given to candidates residing in Sheikh Zayed or Sixth of October Area.
