TITLE:Counselor Clerk
POSTION TYPE:Clerk
HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required:
1. High school diploma HiSET or G.E.D.
2. Previous secretarial/clerical work or equivalent
3. Basic bookkeeping skills
Preferred:
1. Strong organization skills
2. Attention to detail
BASIC FUNCTION:
Perform all secretarial/clerical work in the Counseling Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Answer telephone and screen calls for counselors.
2. Schedule college representative visits.
3. Make counseling appointments.
4. Enter computer data.
5. Write student passes and work permits for students.
6. Assist students with college and financial aid information and college testing information.
7. Assist registrar with computer entry regarding grades GPA.
8. Assist with student scheduling computer forms course code sheets etc.
9. Record student program changes.
10. Attach student grade reports to cumulative records.
11. Coordinate Upward Bound and Talent Search visits.
12. Order counseling supplies.
13. Request homework assignment for absent student and students in special programs.
14. Receive payment for PSAT registration.
15. Prepare final Senior Destination report each year.
16. Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
17. Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
18. Maintain confidentiality.
19. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public students and other employees.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional standing and walking with constant sitting
Occasional bending reaching/pushing/pulling climbing stairs
Occaisonal lifting up to25 lbs
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Inside majority of the time with occasional outside working conditions
