Turner Industries Group LLC has an opening for an Industrial Maintenance Manager to join our Team in the Chicago IL area. The Site Manager position provides overall administrative and technical management for one jobsite. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Project Manager; Receives guidance on broad goals and overall objectives / in charge of a functional area / influences policy but not final authority.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent
- Minimum of eight (8) years construction or project management estimating and/or craft supervision experience in similar facility construction (preference for Union experience)
- Eight (8) to ten (10) years of technical training and/or related experience including thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction
- Planning Scheduling Estimating cost control & budgeting
- Knowledge of applicable Union CBA(s).
- Quality and Safety awareness
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology equipment methods)
- Advanced knowledge of jobsite crafts and ability to advise more efficient methods of productivity
- Able to inspire employees to constant improvement while administering accountability
- Excellent mentoring skills
- Excellent communication organizational and supervisory skills essential
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others at the workplace
Functional Requirements:
Oversee jobsite to ensure work is constructed in accordance with design budget and schedule; works in alliance with Project Manager; also includes interfacing with client representatives subcontractors security etc.; ensure all company client and project policies procedures standards etc. are adhered to; interpret policies as required update and revise site specific policies and procedures as needed with Project Manager and client approvals; plan coordinate and supervise onsite functions (planning scheduling engineering material control and may provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting purchasing etc.); supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract; provide technical assistance i.e. interpretation of drawings recommending construction methods and equipment etc. as required; initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders; assume responsibility for productivity of crafts efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance; assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs; provide effective coordination of contractor workforce; ensure compliance with Client scheduling and cost control processes; coordinate efficient utilization of resources; collaborate in managing client processes; daily interface with Client workforce; monitor / audit hiring process; monitor / audit disciplinary process; monitor / audit training development process; perform additional assignments per supervisors direction
Compensation
Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:
May be required to do the following: climbing ladders scaffolds structures etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders scaffolds structures etc.; reaching in all directions handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting from ground level waist level and/or overhead; carrying objects tools equipment etc.; standing; walking; pushing; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.
