TITLE: DISTRICT SECONDARY CURRIUCULUM COORDINATOR
JOB SUMMARY:The Secondary Curriculum Coordinator is a collaborative leader responsible for the oversight development and enhancement of the districts secondary education curriculum (grades 9-12) with a significant focus on college and career readiness pathways including CTE AP and early college programs. This role involves driving instructional excellence through professional development data-informed decision-making and fostering robust partnerships all while ensuring alignment with the Oklahoma Academic Standards and managing the resources associated with a successful secondary program.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Facilitate the development implementation review and update of curriculum including pacing guides and assessments aligned to the Oklahoma Academic Standards
- Collaborate with school-based personnel to provide guidance and support in implementing strategies that result in high-functioning CTE (Career and Technical Education) AP (Advanced Placement) and early college pathway programs.
- Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies best practices and assessment methods.
- Organize and provide professional development opportunities tools and resources for teachers and administrators on educational best practice including fostering a culture of college and career readiness and STEM education that meet the needs of students.
- Interpret assessment results and other related data to make informed decisions about curriculum and pacing adjustments.
- Work closely with teachers instructional coaches department heads and administration to foster a collaborative educational culture.
- Identify and recommend instructional resources materials and technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Serve as liaison to vendors during the adoption of district curriculum as well as determining the best resources options and innovations that will optimize the learning experience for students and staff.
- Maintain district adopted resources including but not limited to purchasing inventory and distribution to sites.
- Collaboratively develop and monitor the budget and program expenditures for assigned curricular areas.
- Write and facilitate supplemental grants including state and federal grants that support district initiatives.
- Coordinate facilitate and complete state and federal reports as outlined by the OSDE and CTE.
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Oklahoma Teaching Certificate
- 5 Years of successful leadership at the site or district level
- Masters Degree
- Demonstrated success implementing effective instructional strategies
- Experience with developing strong collaborative partnerships and building relationships with constituents both parents and the community
- Knowledgeable about the impact of the diversity of family economic linguistic and cultural experiences and backgrounds
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Will be required to regularly stand sit and walk for extended periods; estimated 70% sitting 15% standing and 15% walking
- Must regularly lift/move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move objects up to 25 pounds
- Flexible schedule as needed to accommodate before and after school meetings and activities on a regular basis
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents staff members and students from all cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- May experience constant interruptions inflexible deadlines and changes to normal routines
- The ability to communicate with various groups of people is essential. This may include communication with parents teachers and administrators
- The ability to effectively balance time and effectiveness in an office environment a classroom environment and a collaborative leadership environment constitutes a major portion of this job
- Must have a valid drivers license a clean driving record and reliable transportation
