Coordinator/Director Qualifications (Not to Exceed 70 hours for the duration of the summer program)Aviation Powerplant summer school will be from June 20- July 18 2025. Other than holidays class will be conducted Monday thru Friday from 7:00 AM - 2:00 PMResponsibility:- Ensures proper function of engines and operating systems via a variety of tests and tools.- Identifies and resolves mechanical problems based on visual inspections or reports from teachers.- Act as a liaison between the Federal Aviation Administration the Aviation Advisory Board and the Westfield Technical Academy staff.- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by FAA regulations state law and school policies.- Set up program classrooms and facilities according to Federal Aviation Administration Order 8900.- Work with the Department to set up and ensure proper operation of equipment.- Any other duties assigned by the Department Head and/or Building :- Current A&P license and 5 years of Aviation experience in directing/coordinating/instructing a CFR 14 Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) Program- Strong management and organizational skills- Proficient with Federal Aviation Administration Orders and program regulatory guidance.- Proficient with Federal Aviation Administration Advisory CircularsWork is generally conducted at Westfield Technical Academys Aviation Department Hangar 2 located at Westfield Barnes Airport. Occasionally at the main campus. Position involves working with your hands and the ability to travel from one place to another within the office. This position involves medium work with the regular lifting of up to 30 pounds and occasional lifting of as much as 100 pounds with some pulling and pushing or reaching above as required for aircraft maintenance. Regular attendance is an essential function of this to Exceed 70 hours for the duration of the summer program
