A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical is part of the larger organization Montrose Environmental Group is comprised of 10 laboratories servicing air water soil and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.

Our Durham NC facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Operations Manager to join our team.

NOTE: This position will be split between Enthalpy and MAQS within the Measurements and Analysis sector.

The Technical Director serves as a Subject Matter Expert in their field of expertise providing Thought Leadership to the Company and its clients in that area. They will be able to handle highly challenging and non-routine technical issues in the Company and for our clients. They will be able to increase the technical ability of the Company at a cross-sector level in the Measurements and Analysis sector.The Technical Director will represent and promote the Company at industry conferences networking events and client-facing engagements.

As a key member of the laboratory team this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

  • Operate as SME for the Company in air analysis and testing including guidance and technical oversight on instrument set up and performance data validation and reporting
  • Development of Thought Leadership materials in air analysis and testing
  • Development of Technical Training materials in air analysis and testing
  • Leading sessions that involve the dissemination of Thought Leadership and Technical Training materials including online offerings and sessions that provide CEUs
  • Method development assistance and planning with operations staff
  • Instrument and analytical troubleshooting and training with operations staff including assisting with setup validation and data management of laboratory and field equipment
  • Temporary CEMs Support: Assist with setup validation and data management of temporary CEMs that include a GC or FTIR.
  • Provide on-site support for technically complex or high-visibility testing programs when appropriate.
  • Assisting the Companys Senior Management with assigned projects
  • Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of or accuracy of analyses and other processes
  • Communicating relevant updates to applicable people in a timely manner
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Company
  • Compliance with Enthalpys Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Compliance with Companys Health and Safety Plan
  • Up to 20% travel (Scheduled)
  • Hybrid Schedule Work from home two days per week

YOUR EXPERTISE & SKILLS
To perform this job successfully individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

  • Bachelors degree in chemistry Biology Environmental Science or related field.
  • They must be able to handle non-routine samples and/or situations.
  • They must be able to work with only minimal instruction from their supervisor.
  • Their documentation timeliness and throughput must meet the standard of the laboratory and of the Company.
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge and experience on the operation of the chemistry instrumentation and associated software involved in the assays and processes of the lab and of the Company

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Superior knowledge of analytical method analytical instruments general lab practices and lab safety
  • Well organized and have an attention to detail
  • Good organization and communication skills
