Billing Assistant Manager Job DescriptionLocation: Monroe GA 30655Skills Required: Billing Assistant ManagerPosition SummaryUnder the direction of the Billing Manager the Billing Assistant Manager oversees and assists with the general billing aspects of the department providing support as a liaison to the Billing Manager. To Assist the Billing Manager in responsibilities for the overall efficient operation of the billing department to ensure that billing goals and objectives are met on a daily weekly quarterly and annual basis. Assist in managing support billing staff. Participates in the system for handling patient questions complaints and adverse incidents. Offers friendly courteous and confidential assistance to all patients and staff through phone correspondence and in office always exemplifying excellence in customer service. Job Responsibilities- Keeps up to date on overall activities of the Practice identifying problem areas and communicating concerns to the executive team.
- Oversee billing and claims progress.
- Provide billing metrics and updates on a weekly basis.
- Support Billing Specialists to handle general billing inquiries.
- Communicate necessary billing information to other department team leaders to resolve recurring billing issues.
- Void payments as needed.
- Process patient and insurance refunds.
- Identify and communicate technical issues within the billing system.
- Participate in interview process of billing candidates.
- Train the new billing employees.
- Assists with other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Billing Manager.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
- Knowledge of medical billing terminology
- Proficient with Windows based programs and EHR
