Job Description
The Hotel Maintenance Engineer position is responsible for a multitude of maintenance duties. Duties include anything from painting electrical machine maintenance HVAC plumbing etc. Guest maintenance calls are of high priority.
WORK EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or general education degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; 2 years minimum work experience in maintenance or trades. Must speak read and understand English.
(HOURLY RATE DEPENDENT ON ENGINEER LEVEL III III.)
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:
Knowledge
- Understand hotel function and guest profiles.
- Knowledge of local area including restaurants landmarks shopping centers and or local attraction.
- Basic computer proficiency such as answering emails.
- Have knowledge in refrigeration HVAC plumbing water treatment electrical and life safety systems.
- Have knowledge in electrical mechanical and carpentry fields. HVAC and refrigeration certificate licensed plumber and/or journeyman status for electrician/carpenter may be required.
- Understand standard accounting principles such as addition subtraction multiplication percentages etc.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents as safety rules (i.e. Lockout-Tag out JSAs) safety awareness information (i.e. MSDS) operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Skills
- Maintenance English communication skills both verbal and written.
- Interpersonal skills such as listening smiling relating asking questions teamwork etc.
- Have the skill to manage multiple tasks at a time maintain focus and structure under pressure.
- Have the skill to resolve conflicts with ease and professionalism to ensure maximum guest and associate satisfaction.
- A stable understanding skill set in plumbing electrical painting appliance maintenance etc.
Abilities
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail speed accuracy follow-through courtesy cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with both associates and guests to build trust and loyalty.
- Ability to maintain consistent positive energy self-motivation and passion for hospitality.
- Ability to keep hotel sensitive information confidential such as guest profiles credit card information etc.
- Ability to learn new software and computer systems.
- Ability to easily adapt to various situations constant change handle pressure and remain composed and focused.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged standing/walking for 8 hours. Ability to walk around the hotel up and down stairs stoop kneel lift a minimum of 50 lbs. push and pull approximately 300 lbs. Frequently handling objects machinery and equipment to maintain the facility.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual or Multilingual
- Prior Maintenance/Engineer/HVAC plumbing electrical experience
- Prior hotel maintenance experience
- Emotional Intelligence Training

We are looking for someone who can easily engage and adapt to our unique culture. We are looking for a talented and creative Maintenance Engineer to join our family! The Maintenance Engineer will work the day-to-day maintenance repairs and renovations of the hotel. In addition the Maintenance Engineer will assist with projects. The Maintenance Engineer is an integral part of our leadership team at the property and works side by side with associates on a day-to-day basis to anticipate and meet guests needs. We are looking for someone who will help us develop new ideas and ways to improve guest satisfaction scores.
