Rockhurst University is accepting applications for an Interim Dean for the Saint Lukes College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Additional details about our programs are available on the website: Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative officer for all programs and schools under the College. Responsibilities include administrative functions; direct development and implementation of a shared mission vision and strategic plan for the College; engage in recruitment development and evaluation of faculty and staff members to promote academic excellence; coordinate with Enrollment Management to guide student recruitment activities and management of enrollment; coordinate with the Provost and Deans Council to develop and manage all budget areas under the College; provide oversight of curricular and accreditation activities; foster university and community partnerships that provide student opportunity and institutional support; represent the College to both internal and external constituents; and foster collegiality in a shared governance environment supportive of the Jesuit Catholic values and traditions.
Position requirements:
- PH.D. or Ed.D. or other terminal degree is required.
- Minimum of five years of prior administrative experience leading multiple health and sciences and human services programs.
- Minimum of ten years of full-time faculty experience in higher education preferably at a four-year institution.
- Prior experience leading strategic planning at the college or university level.
- Prior success building partnerships and leading new program initiatives inside and outside of the institution.
- Prior experience with accreditation activities preferably with the Higher Learning Commission and other professional accreditation agencies and managing adherence to standards.
- Prior experience implementing best practices in health science education.
- Strong organizational analytical planning interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals.
- Evidence working to build a strong shared governance structure and build strong working teams.
- Experience with faculty governance.
