HOURS - 37.5 hours weekly Sunday to Thursday - Days afternoon and overnights

How You Will Make an Impact

The successful candidate will extend our mission to residential and non-residential clients through the provision of respectful and appropriate housing support services. This may include case management crisis intervention and supportive counseling. The incumbent must be able to work independently in a challenging and rewarding values-based environment.

  • Develop and maintain a caseload
  • Complete an intake and assessment on each resident
  • Design implement in consultation with supervisor an interview schedule that will provide an evaluation of quality of life improvement of successful program participants
  • Maintain confidentiality with regards to clients/staff and Centres records
  • Responsible for participating in Good Shepherds Health and Safety programs procedures procedures and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd.

What Youll Bring to Our Team

  • Applicants should possess a thorough knowledge of issues impacting cis women trans and non-binary individuals including violence abuse mental illness homelessness poverty and substance use
  • Experience working in a residential setting is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with Intake and Assessment
  • A demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability flexibility adaptability hospitality and dignity is essential
  • A post-secondary education is required
  • C.P.R. certification (or willingness to be certified)
  • A valid Ontario drivers license (G) is also an asset
  • The successful candidate will have a flexible schedule
  • Ability to speak French and/or other languages considered an asset
