Job Description

The Building Center Inc.

Title:Truss Pricing Coordinator
Reports to:Director of Design
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Division: Pineville NC

Summary:

The Truss Pricing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate competitive and profitable pricing for truss products. This role supports the sales and production teams by managing quote generation maintaining customer pricing records and analyzing cost and market data. Key responsibilities include entering and updating customer pricing managing pricing tiers monitoring contract compliance and responding to pricing inquiries. The Coordinator works closely with cross-functional teams and leverages the companys ERP system to ensure data accuracy and support overall pricing strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pricing Calculations:

Calculate material costs labor expenses and overhead to determine accurate pricing for trusses.

  • Pricing Management:Enter and manage pricing for trusses andtruss-related products including tiered adjustments and custom quotes.
  • Quote Management:

Generate and manage quotes for customers ensuring pricing is competitive and aligned with company goals.

  • Market Research:

Analyze competitor pricing and market trends to ensure pricing remains competitive.

  • Cost Analysis:

Review and analyze cost variances and recommend pricing adjustments to improve profitability.

  • Customer Service:

Address customer inquiries regarding pricing providing clear and accurate information.

  • Internal Coordination:

Collaborate with various teams including sales production and engineering to ensure smooth operations.

  • Data Management:

Maintain accurate pricing records in company systems ensuring data integrity.

  • Process Improvement:

Identify and recommend process improvements to optimize pricing accuracy and efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills:Required to perform accurate cost calculations and pricing analysis.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills:Essential for managing pricing data and ensuring accuracy.
  • Communication and customer service skills:Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Computer proficiency:Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word etc.) and ERP systems.Experience with MiTek or Alpine Engineering programs is a plus.
  • Experience in the construction or building materials industry:Preferable as it provides a strong understanding of truss pricing and production.
  • Problem-solving skills:Ability to identify and resolve pricing-related issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team:Required to manage workload effectively and collaborate with others.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Required to travel occasionallywithin the local community region and across states for meetings requiring overnight stays.

  • Have close vision (1- 20 inches) and have the ability to adjust focus.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities effectively and efficiently.
  • Preferred:3 years of experience in sales operations pricing administration customer relations or commercial/residential contracting.
  • Preferred:2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong commitment to customer service with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills; able to effectively engage diverse audiences across various topics.
