Summary: Mistick Construction a leading Pittsburgh-based general contractor specializing in multi-family housing is seeking qualified candidates for a Community Workforce Coordinator. The Community Workforce Coordinator supports the hiring and development of local diverse and underrepresented workers on construction projects. This position serves as a key link between contractors trade groups community organizations and job seekers. The Coordinator works to ensure workforce goals are met including local hire minority/women participation by building pipelines of qualified candidates into skilled trades careers.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage outreach strategies to recruit individuals for construction-related employment opportunities.
Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to identify upcoming labor needs.
Build and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations schools workforce agencies and training providers.
Facilitate construction career information sessions hiring events and site tours for prospective workers.
Support job seekers with readiness preparation including resume review and interview coaching.
Monitor and track worker participation to ensure compliance with project-specific workforce goals (e.g. local hire Section 3 MWDBE).
Maintain accurate records of outreach activities referrals placements and compliance data using workforce tracking systems.
Prepare and present regular reports to project teams general contractors and public agency stakeholders.
Act as a visible representative of the company at workforce-related meetings community forums and other engagements.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in workforce development social services construction management public administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience in workforce coordination or construction hiring.
Minimum 24 years of experience in workforce development union coordination or construction job placement.
Strong knowledge of construction career pathways and labor compliance requirements.
Experience working with diverse populations and underrepresented communities in the skilled trades.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with tracking tools (e.g. LCPtracker Elation Systems or similar platforms).
Ability to travel to job sites community meetings and partner offices as needed.
