Job Description
Job Summary
The Central Supply Partner is a key partner in Surgical Services and responsible for cleaning managing and sterilizing instrumentation and equipment used in the surgical suite and other department areas. This includes assisting the operative team in gathering instrumentation and supplies for surgical procedures as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Process instrumentation and equipment used in the operating room according to manufacturers recommendations and hospital policy and procedure.
- Apply the principles of universal precautions and asepsis to provide optimum safe patient care.
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments in accordance with manufacturer requirements universal sterilization guidelines and organizational policies and procedures.
- Maintain instrumentation in working order.
- Generate collect possess and communicate information effectively within the scope of the role of a central supply partner.
- Report collected data accurately and completely relating to the biological and quality testing of sterilization equipment.
- Identify emergent and urgent situations and use sound judgement in instituting established procedures and correct situations in a calm and efficient manner.
- Other duties as assigned
Education Requirements
- Minimum: High school diploma
- Preferred: Provisional certified certified central sterile training/education
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: Four hundred (400) hours in surgical setting
