Job Description
This position of Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) facilitates functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) and develops behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students across the district. The BCBA will confer with and/or train staff administrators parents and others. The BCBA provides continuous progress monitoring (data analysis) related to behavior intervention plans and other evidence based practices for students. The BCBA demonstrates positive interpersonal skills cooperative teamwork multi-agency coordination and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The BCBA delivers targeted behavior intervention services to students struggling to exhibit appropriate behaviors.
This position works with a variety of students with disabilities such as individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and Emotional Behavior Disabilities (EBD). This position may be asked to participate as a committee member in the development of individualized education plans (IEP).
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct various descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments (e.g. functional analyses)
- Conduct various skill-based assessments (e.g. Vineland ABLLS-R VB-MAPP AFLS etc.)
- Provide behavior analytic interpretations of the results and design comprehensive ABA treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and behavior analytic research literature.
- Provide training and supervision to Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts Registered Behavior Technicians and other responsible parties tasked with the implementation of behavior analytic interventions
- Supervise and monitor treatment student progress through data-based progress monitoring
- Provide training to parents/guardians and other responsible parties for the student
- Support and participate in the effective implementation of the Response to Instruction and Intervention (RTI2) framework
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create effective behavior management programs
- Provide program development tracking and data management for behavioral programs
- Work with building administrators and staff to ensure appropriate behavioral data systems are implemented such that quantifiable behavioral data is collected at regular intervals
- Provide consultation with teachers and administrators on behavioral issues
- Facilitate brainstorming sessions with teams of teachers parents and administrators regarding behavior plans (behaviors goals antecedents consequences etc.)
- Provide training to teachers administrators and paraprofessionals on the proper implementation of educational behavior plans data collection systems and necessary monitoring and reporting systems
- Participate in instructional team meetings to identify and support Tier II behavior interventions
- Participate in School Intervention Team meetings to identify and support Tier III behavior interventions
- Maintain a current knowledge of behavioral intervention practices and related areas
- Maintain confidentiality of all student information
- Support and promote the districts mission vision values and the implementation of the strategic plan
- Collaborate with building administrators to oversee building behavior interventionists and provide supervision and support.
- Meet regularly with building behavior interventionists
- Willing and able to participate in de-escalation and crisis intervention training
- Bill Medicaid
- The BCBA will be responsible for securing necessary continuing education to maintain licensure annually.

Medicaid Billing & Compliance:
- Ensure all services are provided in accordance with Medicaid guidelines.
- Complete and review documentation to support Medicaid claims (e.g. progress notes daily session logs treatment plans).
- Submit required documentation within Medicaid billing timeframes.
- Assist administrative staff with audits recoupments and claim denials.
- Stay up to date with state-specific Medicaid policies and procedural changes.
Participate in quality assurance activities related to Medicaid compliance.
